Allstart Auto Electric, Inc. was established on the Central Oregon Coast in the City of Newport. It was started as a one-man operation in a leased building, by founder Jerry Kieffer, who has been in the automotive industry since 1984.

The business quickly outgrew the original facility. Jerry Kieffer and Doug Updenkelder joined forces. Together, they designed and constructed a custom building to house their business. The building was completed and open for operation in July of 1999.
